Our client, a family-run, communications company in Ilkeston are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team. Over the past 15 years they have built their company from the ground up, staying local to the area. They complete projects across the UK but are looking for the right candidate to help them build on sales in the surrounding areas.
They are looking for someone with a strong passion for sales and business development. The right candidate will be motivated, determined and able to mentor the current sales team to help improve on sales and meet targets.
As the new Business Development Manager, you will:
Proactively identify and generate new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and market research.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of leads, converting them into long-term clients.
Deliver engaging sales presentations tailored to client needs, showcasing our range of communication services.
Consistently meet and exceed sales targets, contributing to overall company growth.
Build and nurture strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and foster loyalty.
Understand client needs and provide tailored communication solutions to meet their requirements.
Mentor and coach the current sales team, providing guidance, support, and training to enhance their skills.
Collaborate with the existing sales team to share best practices and improve overall team performance.
Conduct market research to identify trends, emerging opportunities, and potential challenges.
Work closely with management to develop and implement effective business development strategies.
Requirements for this position:
Proven track record in sales, lead generation, and business development.
Experience in cold calling and converting leads into clients.
Previous experience in the communications industry is an advantage but not essential.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a results-driven mindset.
Ability to mentor and motivate team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
Proficiency in CRM systems and other sales tools is desirable.
About this role:
This is a full-time, office-based, permanent position.
Salary for this role is dependent on experience.
Hours for this role are 8:30am – 5pm, Monday – Thursday, with an early finish on a Friday at 4:30pm. Lunch breaks are 30 minutes.
