This is an excellent opportunity (arisen from growth in the department) for an established, but growing West End based Institutional Asset Manager.Martis Search are representing a West End based, but global Asset Management company to hire a permanent “Data Analyst – Asset Allocation (Front Office Investment Data Analyst role)”.The role is permanent and you will report into a senior Director. The position involves working within a small “Investment Analyst” team (literally x 2 others including the Directors). The department is a sub-division of their “Investment Management” team that reports into the CIO of the business.The reason for the role is growth in the department and the team is responsible for “Data Analytics” in “Asset Allocation” meaning that the department analyse all Investment Data for all the company’s Funds across global geographical locations. The Investment Data that is analysed helps shape and defines the company’s investment strategy i.e. the CIO and Fund Management/ Portfolio Management team use the Data provided by this specific team to make their investment decisions from. You will be responsible to interpret Investment Data and writing reports on the data findings to be used by the investment teams and CIO as to what to invest into. This involves a lot of “Financial Modelling” of complex Investment Data using coding languages such as Python, VBA, SQL etc and writing reports and recommendations from this research. The Director and senior team member want to pass on their knowledge onto the chosen incumbent, so it such a great opportunity to learn and get exposure. Both team members are highly-educated and experienced within Investment Management (in Analytical roles) and are looking for a bright and numerate graduate (i.e. 1st Class Honours, or a 2:1 from either a mathematical/ numerical focused degree such as Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Sciences etc from a highly reputable university) with either an “analytical” focused experience, either:An Internship/ Sandwich year within Private Equity, or Asset Management preferably, or any type of related Financial Services type company.OR6-month’s – 2-years’ experience in Data Analysis, or as an “Investment Analyst”, or something Analytical within Financial Services (Private Equity, or Asset Management preferably, or any type of related Financial Services type company).The company offer a hybrid mix of working-from-home and also in-the-office, so you get the best of both worlds.
