To support our growing business we are on the search for an experienced IP Technical Support Specialist.
Reporting to the Operations manager, The IP Technical Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity and functionality of IP-based services and infrastructure within the Infrastructure industry. This role involves troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, and ensuring the continuous operation of IP networks critical to the organizations services.

Magdalene operates as a Telecommunication Infrastructure Services Company and is part of the Telecom Division of M Group Services. Covering the full network lifecycle, we deliver Managed Services and Projects for both fixed and mobile infrastructure networks across the operator and utility markets.
Key accountabilities and Decision Ownership
Provide technical support for IP-based infrastructure Including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices

Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability
Configure and install various network devices and services e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS)

Perform network maintenance and system upgrades Including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations

Troubleshoot complex networking issues that may involve multiple systems and layers of infrastructure
Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy
Update data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information
Manage and ensure the effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls and anti-virus tools
Respond to inquiries to provide technical assistance and support, from and not limited to ; The customer, administrators, service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors

The IP Technical Support Specialist may be called upon as and when required to assist in projectdelivery on behalf of the customer Core Competencies, Knowledge and Experience

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Or equivalent work experience

Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are advantageous
Proven hands-on network engineering experience
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Technical/Professional qualifications
