Randstad are recruiting for an Independent Reviewing Officer for the Social Workers to join Islington Council's Children services in the IRO - CP team. This full time role has a fantastic rate of £301 per day and also offers felxible working schedules.

As a member of the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance team you may hold a diverse caseload that will include mainly children looked after and some child protection cases. You will also be asked to contribute to auditing activity across the service, which will be an integral part of the role. You will need to possess excellent chairing skills, to confidently manage difficult meetings whilst ensuring the participation of children and young people and their parents; have a keen eye for scrutiny, auditing, attention to detail and good report writing skills. The successful applicant will be able to ensure effective decisions are made for Children Looked After and Children with a Child Protection Plan and monitor those decisions in line with Working Together and the Care Placement, Planning and Review Regulations.
The successful applicant will need extensive knowledge of The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations, 2010, the IRO Handbook, Working Together to Safeguard Children and London Child Protection Procedures, and be expected to ensure that high quality services are being delivered to children, providing constructive challenge where needed.

- To chair statutory reviews for children looked after (CLA) by Islington Council
- To hold responsibility for ensuring correct decisions and recommendations are made when planning for children
- To contribute to improved standards and outcomes for children and their families by providing advice and consultation on all matters relating to children on the cusp of becoming looked after as well as those already looked after
- To contribute to continuous service improvement by quality assuring the service provided
Requirements:
- Social Work England Registered (SWE)
- Enhanced DBS
- Social Work Degree or equivalent
