IT Engineer - Part Time

Job Title: Part-Time IT Engineer

Location: West Midlands, United Kingdom

Contract Type: Rolling month-by-month contract with potential to increase to full-time and transition to permanent by the end of the year.

Working Days: 1-2 days per week initially, with the view to increase gradually.

Job Description:

We are seeking a versatile IT Engineer with broad knowledge across various key areas to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:

Key Responsibilities:

• Microsoft 365:
• Intune configuration and migrations from on-prem and other hosting providers.
• Implementing SAML SSO (a big plus).
• Wireless Networking:
• Experience with Ubiquiti & Zyxel (configuration only).
• General Networking:
• Experience with WatchGuard, Ubiquiti & Zyxel.
• VLANs, DHCP/DNS, firewall rule management, content filtering, VPNs.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery:
• Deploying backup solutions (Acronis knowledge is ideal but not critical).
• Email Security Solutions:
• Deploying email security solutions with Microsoft 365.
• Experience with Barracuda, Perception Point, and Defender for Office 365.
• Windows Server OS Knowledge.
• Hyper-V/Failover Cluster Manager:
• Experience with alternative hypervisors such as StarWind would be beneficial.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in the above key areas.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
