We are seeking an experienced Group IT Engineer to oversee the deployment, maintenance, and optimisation of our clients sites in the South of England as well as their Head Office. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, and an understanding of network systems, telecommunications, and hardware/software management preferably within a hotel/hospitality environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our IT environment is efficient, secure, and aligned with the evolving needs of our business. IT Hardware Management:Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of PC hardware and software. Ensuring all hardware and software is up-to-date for each property.Perform regular maintenance on communications cabinets and manage office moves where necessary.Technical Support:Provide second-line technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues promptly and efficiently.Provide support and assist with trouble shooting with our property management systems (PMS), WiFi, telecommunications, TV and AV systems.Stakeholder management and hands on IT support to Board members.Supplier Management:Maintain good relationships with our 3rd Party suppliers to ensure consistent support to our hotels.Procure IT equipment and services cost-effectively.Training and Development:Provide training and guidance to property-level IT teams to enhance their skills and knowledge to promote a self-sufficient environment.Stay up to date on emerging IT trends and technologies relevant to the hospitality industry.Project Involvement:Participate in IT projects, such as system upgrades, new technology implementations, property expansions or new developments.Asset Management Documentation:Maintain accurate records and documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.Ensure property teams have access to necessary documentation.QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Minimum of 4 years of IT end-user support/helpdesk experience.Strong analytical troubleshooting skills to effectively identify and resolve problems.Collaborative team player capable of coordinating with other departments to deliver comprehensive solutions.Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.Proficiency in remote administration/connectivity methods.Proficiency in Microsoft-based computer/user management (Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, Exchange), both on cloud and on-premises.Strong knowledge of desktop applications (Microsoft Technologies) and networking (LAN/WAN) and networking protocolsExperience with hotel-specific systems, including Opera PMS, Micros, HotSOS, Mitel PBX/Dect, key access systems, and digital signage systems.Practical experience in Ethernet/Fibre patching and telecoms wiring.Self-management capability and effective communication with both IT and non-IT users.
