Job Title: Junior Controls EngineerLocation: Coventry / Solihull Contract: 6 monthsRate: £30-£35/hr (outside IR35)Hours: Plenty of overtime available, including weekend work.Company: Our client, a global market leader in intelligent manufacturing solutions, is looking to recruit a Junior Controls Engineer to join their team in Coventry.Job Overview:Reporting to the Controls & Electrical Engineering Manager, the Junior Controls Engineer will assist in the representation of the controls team's activities according to the project schedule across a diverse range of industries. The role involves supporting the delivery of professional, high-quality, cost-efficient, and right-first-time automation systems in collaboration with project teams, assembly/installation teams, and hardware designers.Duties & Responsibilities:Assist in interpreting customer and regulatory requirements to ensure designs align with project specifications.Support the Engineering Leader with project change control for controls aspects.Participate in the creation and review of FDS/HDS/SDS documentation (GAMP5) by accurately interpreting the RFQ/URS and internal customer specifications.Aid the controls design team in assessing technical feasibility and alignment with project topology and gateway success.Assist in the design and implementation of programmable systems, including PLCs, HMIs, Robots, Safety Systems, Drive Systems, Vision Systems, and SCADA, in line with Form 26 design specifications and relevant regulatory requirements.Collaborate with the Project Manager and Engineering Leader to plan resource requirements and develop project milestones to maintain the design status report.Support the writing of Controls RFQs, technical levelling, commissioning plans, and FAT specifications alongside the Engineering Leader.Promote and support Industry 4.0 technologies and practices to align with the company’s digital strategy and showcase offerings.Experience:Approximately 2 years of experience working in machine development or automation engineering.Basic knowledge of various control systems and technologies, with an understanding of systems from leading manufacturers such as Siemens and Rockwell.Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly processes in automation and an engineering background in automation is preferred.
