We are pleased�to be supporting an Engineering company based in Sunbury with their recruitment of a Junior Engineering Buyer. Salary up to �28,000 with outstanding benefits including annual bonus, private health & dental care, generous pension scheme and life assurance.�
As a Junior Buyer the main purpose of your role is to�purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.� Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Purchasing Engineers to ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials
  • Communicate any supply issues which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
  • Support the Purchasing Engineers to Interface between applications, drawing office and the supplier with respect to specifications and budgets
  • Understand vendor loading and stock analysis and ensure vendors can supply in a timely manner and ensure vendors comply with company purchasing policies
  • Manage stock enquiries and manage any problems and changes as necessary
  • Assess quotes from existing suppliers and decide on best supplier fit based on price, lead times and quality
  • Check product certification and issue product to the workshop
  • Liaise between workshop and supplier to solve any issues
Skills & Requirements:
  • Building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Good negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Analytical, numerically astute with abilities to escalate potential issues
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Develops foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts
Qualificatiions:
  • Purchasing experience in an engineering environment desirable
  • GCSE in English, Maths &�Science is essential
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings
