About the Company: A well established and reputable firm is seeking a Junior IT Security Analyst. This individual will maintain and enhance IT security systems, ensuring that security tools (vulnerability scanning, patch management, anti-virus, intrusion detection/prevention) are up-to-date and effective. The role also involves providing security guidance for new and existing IT systems.Responsibilities:Continuously improve IT security by identifying and addressing issues and threats promptly.Conduct regular network vulnerability scans and coordinate remediation efforts.Manage patch updates, ensuring timely application and testing.Maintain anti-virus compliance and generate regular reports.Analyse and report on unusual behaviour.Investigate and escalate potential security threats.Collaborate on border security management with IT colleagues and third parties.Implement server and desktop OS hardening techniques.Develop and report on IT security policies and processes.Enhance endpoint security and data loss prevention methods.Ensure IT security requirements are met for new systems and services.Support compliance with security certifications (Cyber Essentials+, ISO27001, GDPR).Refine and practice cyber response protocols.Serve as a point of contact for MSSP services.Manage existing security tools alongside IT Infrastructure and Applications teams.Advise colleagues on IT security best practices and solutions.Stay updated on the latest IT security threats and measures.Required Skills:Experience with Windows operating systems, including server and desktop OS hardening.Proficiency with cloud-based services, particularly Microsoft Azure, Office 365/Exchange Online, and AAD.Solid understanding of vulnerability scanning and patch management.Knowledge of enterprise anti-virus and DLP.Logical thinker and creative problem solver.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership.Preferred Skills:Security-related qualification (e.g., CompTIA Sec+).Experience with firewall management (ideally CheckPoint) and intrusion detection/prevention.Microsoft Azure AZ-900 qualification.
