A national M&E Contractor are looking for a Junior Mechanical Estimator to join their expanding team in Northampton. The company provides M&E services to a wide range of clients and businesses across a multitude of sectors including MOD, HMP, Commercial, Education and Healthcare. These projects are typically valued up to �10M.





This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Junior Mechanical Estimator to develop their career in estimating within a supportive environment. The successful candidate will be assisting the teams by helping produce tenders and costings for future works.





The role is open to someone with experience in the mechanical industry looking to come off the tools and step into the commercial side of projects who is keen to gain valuable knowledge and guidance to pre-construction from an experienced mechanical team.





As the Junior Mechanical Estimator, you will have the following responsibilities:




  • Assist in preparing mechanical tender documents.

  • Close liaison with clients/potential clients regarding any enquiries received into the company and assigned, representing the business in a professional manner at all times.

  • Attend site surveys or tender interviews as necessary with Mechanical Estimators / Commercial Manager.

  • Liaise with other departments regarding completion of all information as identified as required within the enquiry.

  • Assist with evaluating supplier and sub-contract returns to ensure compliance with the tender specification.

  • Support with providing ongoing assistance to the projects team if requests for the generation of variation costs are received.





Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:




  • Experience in the mechanical industry.

  • Mechanical qualifications.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong IT skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.�
