Job Title: Junior Mortgage Underwriter

Salary: £30,000 + Bonus OTE £42,000-£50,000.

Our client is a specialist mortgage brokerage based in Macclesfield. They are looking for a mortgage underwriter and also someone who will be able to advise customers on the best mortgage products mainly working on second charge mortgages.

Experience needed for the role as a Junior Mortgage Underwriter:

• CeMAP qualification is essential.
• Educated to A level standard or equivalent is preferred.
• Must have some 2nd charge mortgage advisor experience
• Ideally working as a case manager, mortgage advisor or underwriter currently

Duties as a Junior Mortgage Underwriter include:

• Underwrite and assess loan applications in line within credit policy.
• Ensuring all details are correct and in line with regulations, escalating any fraudulent activity.
• Participating in improving systems and processes.
• Keeping up to date with any regulation changes.
• Calculate loan repayments based on clients income.
• Call clients and give an advised sale based on clients needs and circumstances.
• Provide support for other team members as required.
