Junior Quantity Surveyor

Jaydee-Brook is an established and successful Shopfitting & Internal Fit Out Company based in Peterborough.  With over 35 years’ experience in retail, commercial, industrial installations and refurbishments, the Company has built a strong reputation for quality, efficiency and service.

As part of our expansion programme we are currently looking to recruit experienced:

JUNIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Location:                         Head Office Peterborough – Projects throughout UK & Ireland

Hours:                              Full Time – Monday - Friday

Salary:                             £45,000 + p.a - Dependent on Experience

Our Company prides itself on high standards, professionalism and quality of project delivery.  Working with numerous high profile clients, we are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who have a can do attitude that’s proven within the shopfitting or internal fit out sector.

Key Accountabilities:

• Preparing and placing subcontract orders and valuing subcontract accounts


• Preparing and updating external monthly valuations and final account forecasts


• Monthly cost-value reconciliation reports


• Preparation and submission of final accounts


• Agreement and certification of sub-contractors interim valuations and final accounts


• Manage and value variations


• Completion and submission of PQQs


• Maintain sub-contract database


• Assess tender documents to ensure sufficient information available to prepare costing documents


• Prepare and issue sub-contract enquiries and assessment of quotations upon receipt


• Complete tender documents for submission and follow-up


• Maintain contract documentation and advise on pre-tender and post contract matters


• Preparation and submission of interim valuations


• Site measurements

Personal Specification & Qualities:

• RICS or qualified to a degree level (or currently studying the same)


• JCT Contract understanding


• Diligent numerical professional


• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills


• A full driving licence


• High degree of personal motivation, enthusiastic and ambitious


• Must have commercial acumen & be financially astute


• Proficient in sub-contractor negotiations


• Must be able to carry out take off’s / form quantities & formalise Bill of Quantities


• Flexibility - working across all areas of business and hours to meet requirements & tight deadlines


• Good negotiator
