Junior Womenswear Designer Job Role

A leading high street supplier to ASOS and River Island is looking to recruit a Junior Womenswear Designer to work closely with the Design manager/Senior designers/Design team. To research and develop product with a commercial eye which reflects the latest trend/catwalk information and is customer specific to generate sales.

Responsibilities

• Catwalk/blog reports, ensuring latest info is available to other members of staff

• Regular research/comp shop trips to stay on top of high street trends

• Range planning with Senior Designer

• Chase through samples actioned with factory

• Attend customer meetings

• Build relationships with buying and design team

• Oversee internal product development

• Logging in new samples/sent samples. Assist with DHL when help is required

Are you a Junior Womenswear Designer who is:

• Dynamic, creative, flexible

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Confident in Design software

• Willingness to travel

Skills & Knowledge

• Excellent commercial and business knowledge

• PC literate with good administration skills

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Experience

• Relevant sector experience (softs separates/ tailoring and outerwear)
