Key Account Manager / CAD Technician  

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

Location: Gloucestershire, with one day per week working from home

MDE Group UK is recruiting a Key Account Manager (Design) on behalf of a leader in innovative design solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong design background and proven client management expertise.

Key Responsibilities


  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring they feel valued, informed, and supported throughout their projects.
  • Communicate effectively via phone, Teams, or email to clarify briefs and provide updates on progress and timescales.
  • Build strong professional relationships, balancing friendliness with professionalism.
  • Manage and allocate tasks to a small team of CAD Technicians, utilising task management tools (e.g., (url removed)).
  • Ensure resources are appropriately assigned to meet client demands and deadlines.
  • Mentor and support CAD Technicians, providing training on software, standards, and processes.
  • Review and check drawings to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with client standards and company quality procedures.
  • Identify and rectify errors, ensuring deliverables meet the highest standards.
  • Develop and maintain client-specific standards and quick reference guides for use by the team.
  • Create project designs and CAD drawings when necessary, adhering to standard operating procedures and maintaining quality standards.

Key Skills & Experience:

Essential:


  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience with AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • A meticulous eye for detail and a proactive approach to quality assurance.
  • Experience in team management, mentoring, and training.

Desirable:


  • Experience in the renewables industry or an established design role in a specific field (training will be provided if needed).
  • Knowledge of "cut and fill" processes (reshaping topography with balanced soil levels).
