Kitchen Assistants are required for our public sector client.
Locations around Leicestershire so must be able to drive to get to different locations if required.
Monday to Friday - 2-3 hours a day over lunch time
MUST have an vaild DBS (Enhanced)
Key Job Activities:
As per the rota or as instructed by the School Chef/Assistant School Chef:
• Carry out simple tasks to assist with the preparation and cooking of food (this will be done less by post holders primarily working in a dining centre).
• Prepare and set up serving and dining areas in line with the menu and other predefined details.
• Serve food whilst interacting with children and school staff.
• Pack food prepared for other schools (for production hub kitchens only).
• Undertake routine cleaning of kitchen areas and equipment during and after each service.
• Dispose of waste.
• Act as a positive representative of the service by:
• Promote the uptake of school meals and participation with new menus and ideas by engaging with children daily. Catering Logistics As per the rota or as instructed by the School Chef/Assistant School Chef:
• Report the breakdown of equipment and need for structural repairs, including Food Safety hazards, break-ins, and accidents.
• Receive, check, and store deliveries.
• Record accurate food safety, and health & safety information.
•Participate in the regular deep cleaning of kitchen equipment and areas.
• Attend meetings/training as required.
