On behalf of our client school, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated KS1 Teacher to join an established team at a larger than average school in Stockport. This is a full-time opportunity on a mat-cover basis, starting in September. (MPS 1-6). This exciting opportunity is open to both ECTS and experienced members of staff with interviews commencing after the Easter break.
KS1 Teacher - School Expectations and Curriculum Insight
The school require someone with strong subject knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and effective behaviour management strategies coupled with patience and resilience. Children at this school require structure, stability and above all, positive role models to lead the way. In turn, this is a very rewarding place to work with a team of staff working towards a shared goal.
The class comprises of around 30 children of mixed ability with many achieving age related expectations and number of pupils working below ARE. As a result it presents an exciting opportunity for the right teacher to watch these pupils flourish and achieve great progress!
The school are proud to deliver a rich curriculum which engages children and provides memorable experiences and celebrates many of their 'firsts.' The English curriculum is heavily based on memorable learning, oracy, reading and experiences.
Whilst the Maths No Problem scheme is followed to support fluency in fundamentals and be able to reason and problem solve effectively. Through a combination of concrete, pictorial and abstract approaches, children make great progress and achieve well.

The successful candidate must:
Have QTS status or an equivalent teaching qualification
-A passion for making a real impact on the lives and learning of children
-A strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
-An ability to build strong trusting relationships based on mutual respect and a firm approach to behaviour management setting expectations which are reasonable and fair.
-Efficiency in working independently as well as in a team with an open minded approach to share ideas, resources and best practice
-Excellent attendance and punctuality
