We are looking for a passionate and dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis as an SEN TA. In this role, you will inspire a love for teaching and bring the enthusiasm and energy needed to make a positive impact on children's lives.
About your role as an SEN Teaching Assistant
Some of your duties will include:
*Working in a team with the class teacher to deliver excellent support with teaching and learning
*Working with children on a 1:1 or group basis
*Accompanying groups on trips
*Supporting assessment and evidencing learning
*Working with teachers to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
*Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all children
*Creating opportunities for all children to reach their potential, irrespective of ability.
*Supporting a child/children with special educational needs. However, the role will vary from day to day, you will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations
*Giving the opportunity to make a huge social impact, changing the path of a child's life
What you will need to succeed (only UK)
*At least one year's experience of working with children in the primary age range
*Has the ability to support children's academic, social and emotional development in all key stages (EYFS to Year 6)
*Experience of working with children in a friendly and busy environment
*An understanding/experience with children with SEN needs
*Level 2 qualification in play-work/childcare
*Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures
*Have excellent communication skills
*The ability to build effective relationships with students, parents and other staff
*Have a good understanding of behaviour management strategies
*Be able to work as part of a team
*The right to work in the UK
*You must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a DBS through Hays
