Laboratory Technician - Night Shift

Impact Recruitment is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join a dedicated team on night shifts. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a keen interest in laboratory operations. Salary: �30,510.88
Hours: 10pm - 6am (Sun - Thu) - 12 weeks of training on the day shift before transitioning to nights
Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sample Preparation & Processing - Assist in the preparation, handling, and processing of laboratory samples, ensuring strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols.
  • Quality Control & Analysis - Conduct quality assessments, including visual inspections and basic analytical testing, to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
  • Instrumentation & Equipment Maintenance - Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure precision and reliability.
  • Data Recording & Compliance - Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory activities, test results, and process documentation to ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Environmental & Contamination Control - Monitor and maintain environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, and sterility, in accordance with laboratory best practices and industry regulations.
  • Stock & Inventory Management - Track laboratory supplies, manage stock levels, and report shortages to support continuous workflow efficiency.
  • Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance - Adhere to laboratory safety procedures, utilise PPE appropriately, and report any hazards to uphold a safe and compliant working environment.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or highly regulated environment is advantageous.

  • Strong technical skills, including familiarity with laboratory equipment and IT systems.

  • High attention to detail and ability to follow complex protocols.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Understanding of health, safety, and hygiene protocols in a laboratory or cleanroom setting.
