Job Title: Experienced HGV Technician
Recruitment Agency: Vibe Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of their client.



Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join our client's team, responsible for maintaining commercial vehicles and trailers to MOT standards.



Shift Pattern:

  • Location: Groby
  • Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 15:00 PM - 01:00 AM (inclusive of a 30-minute paid break)
  • Total Weekly Hours: 40 hours


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of HGVs and trailers to VOSA standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults across a wide range of vehicle issues.
  • Attend disabled vehicles either at the roadside or on customer premises for repairs.
  • Handle all vehicles with care, ensuring the proper safety measures are taken while on the premises.
  • Work closely with the parts department to source and obtain required parts.
  • Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to at all times.
  • Complete job cards and service sheets accurately, ensuring appropriate clocking and timely updates.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the workshop.
  • Stay up to date with the latest product knowledge and attend relevant training courses to enhance your skills.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to work within set guidelines and meet strict deadlines.
  • Capable of working efficiently under pressure, especially during busy periods.
  • Proactive in seeking solutions to technical problems and challenges.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer care skills.
  • Flexibility to take on a wide range of tasks as needed by the team.
  • Awareness and understanding of Health & Safety requirements in the workplace.


Ideal Experience and Skills:

  • Technical Qualifications: City & Guilds or NVQ-qualified technician, or proven experience in repairing and maintaining vehicles.
  • ADR Certification (for handling hazardous materials) is a plus.
  • A current driving license is required.
