Service Care Legal are currently working alongside a local authority in the London region who are seeking a Senior Planning Lawyer to join their team on an initial 3 month contract. Please find below further details with regards to the position.

Job Title: Senior Planning Lawyer
Hourly Rate: £40.00 to £50.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 3 months with possibility of extension, 36 hours per week
Location: North West London 3 days per week office attendance

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Planning Lawyer to join our Planning Team on a 3-month ongoing contract. You will:
Provide high-level, proactive legal advice on planning matters to the Council, its members, and officers.
Serve as a point of contact for members and senior officers on planning-related legal matters.
Attend planning committee meetings as required.
Allocate work to appropriate team members.
Monitor the quality of work produced by the team.
Manage and support a small team (1 member) while ensuring appropriate training and development.
The Ideal Candidate

The successful Senior Planning Lawyer will possess:
A current practising certificate (as a Barrister, Solicitor, or Legal Executive).
A positive attitude and the ability to lead a small team.
Strong experience in all aspects of planning law.
The ability to anticipate and resolve problems efficiently.
Experience of working within the Planning Law team of a public sector organisation
