An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Lead Applications Scientist to join the Personal Care team within the Consumer Care department at our Global Headquarters, Cowick Hall.
The role will involve the investigation and formulation of Crodas products for key uses within the Personal Care market, across a range of applications from hair care to skin care and colour cosmetics. A key part of the role will also be to develop our internal knowledge on the fundamental properties of our existing products and how they deliver performance and applications benefits to Personal Care formulations. There will be opportunities to carry out creative formulation development, requiring an innovative mindset and problem-solving skills. You will be required to plan your own work, maintaining high standards of good laboratory practice and critically evaluate products and formulations.
The role holder will spend a proportion of their time providing technical support across the EMEA region and so they must be a confident communicator and prepared to travel.

Essentials:
A degree in Chemistry, Biology or related science subject and demonstrable experience of using technical knowledge and understanding to solve complex scientific problems
You should have good laboratory skills and be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written reports
You should have strong interpersonal skills to enable you to build good working relationships both internally and externally to the business
You will be an excellent team player but also work well independently
You will be a positive, self-motivated individual with the ability to manage and plan your own workload
Able to be flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities depending on business needs
Desirables:
Previous experience as a formulator within the personal care industry
