Job DescriptionData Engineering Lead An incredible opportunity to join a fast-growing consultancy who are disrupting the industry! As Data Engineering Lead you will be expected to act as a key figure and technical point of contact in client projects, while playing a major role in growing the team, and by extension, the organisation.Your day-to-day will involve leading our technical project workstreams in the design, architecture, and development of data infrastructure, and the QA of work from the junior team as required, across the technical toolkit. What you’ll be doing: Design and implement data modelling pipelines in a variety of tools (e.g. SQL, dbt) – and QA-ing work in these tools Oversee data ingestion processes for various Big Data technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, and Apache Spark Manage the generation of interactive dashboards using PowerBI to for example effectively visualise ARR snowball metrics Lead technical workstreams, being responsible for the delivery of the work and ensuring these fit in with the wider project context Act as a thought leader on technical toolkits and approaches, contributing ideas for tackling new and different problems across the business Ensuring that client deliverables maintain a high level of quality and is delivered in a timely manner Coaching and mentoring junior team members, often leading by example Other business development, marketing, and growth support as and when required. You’ll thrive if you have:
Experience as a Lead, Head, or Manager within a data practice, managing a team of engineers Experience with data modelling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines – technologies include dbt, Snowflake, Azure Prior experience and deep familiarity with Python and SQL and relevant visualisation tools (Power BI/Tableau)
Prior exposure to private equity and/or consulting is desirable, but not mandatory Strong consulting toolkit: communication, analytical, stakeholder management skills Good sense for where opportunities for growth and optimisation exist within a business, being able to relate technical aspects into their business impact, etc. An ability to work in small, fast-paced teams An entrepreneurial and proactive mindset What’s in it for you?
