To facilitate their growth and leading position in the market, we are shortlisting experienced electrical engineers who have relevant experience to join our client as the Lead Electrical Engineer – FEED - Offshore Wind Connections. In this crucial role, you will spearhead the Front End Engineering Design for offshore wind transmission systems across Europe. You will build upon conceptual designs and produce basic engineering designs during early stage project development. As Lead Electrical Engineer, you’ll have the support of other experts and will take a lead in coordinating the team and allocating resources and tasks according to the projects.This is a fantastic opportunity to be client facing, at the forefront of offshore wind projects in Europe, and work on the latest innovations in transmission technology.ResponsibilitiesDevelop power system engineering designs tailored to offshore wind farm requirements.Lead the FEED engineering team, ensuring consistent and structured approaches to system design creation.Support commercial bids by costing designs and analysing client requirements.Understand client needs, regulations, and standards - guaranteeing full compliance.Collaborate with study teams on load flow analyses, equipment sizing, and Grid Code adherence.Bridge system studies with practical realization for offshore platforms and onshore substations.Closely collaborate with offshore platform designers to develop cost-effective, practical offshore power system realizations at the basic design level.Jointly work with multi-disciplinary civil, electrical, and mechanical teams to deliver optimized, cost-efficient onshore substation designs at the basic level.Facilitate cross-team engagement, integrating inputs from manufacturing, offshore, and other disciplines.Qualifications:Degree in Electrical Power, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experienceProven expertise in developing basic designs or FEED for electricity grid power systemsStrong preference for experience in high-voltage transmission design for offshore wind farmsIn-depth knowledge of system architecture, load flows, power quality, reliability, and substation layoutUnderstanding of UK Grid Codes, technical constraints, and regulatory landscapesAbility to convey complex concepts and drive teams towards optimal outcomesLeadership skills with excellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesSelf-motivated learner with creative problem-solving mindsetThis is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanted to progress into a leadership role or further develop existing management skills.
