Expleo are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and prestige automotive client for a Lead Engineer focused within Collaboration & Innovation, based in Essex. Join a prestige automotive based company within their Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) team at a pivotal moment as we transition from Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) to Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) powertrains. PTME Europe is leading the transformation of manufacturing facilities across Europe to produce electric motors and battery products. As a key member of our PTME family, you will play a crucial role in modernising our business and manufacturing our new range of electrified powertrains.

Please note - this role is remote based with occasional commute to Essex.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage: Lead funded projects and stakeholders, create and maintain project plans, minimise risks, analyse budgets, and ensure timely issue resolution. Coordinate with external auditors and compile reports.
Explore: Utilise your knowledge of the UK/EU funding landscape to identify opportunities for collaborative R&D projects with external parties such as government departments and InnovateUK.
Collaborate: Expand the clients external network, maintain relationships with internal and external partners, and assess fitment for collaborative projects. Lead or support the replication of innovative solutions globally.
Protect: Establish cross-party collaboration agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and support the creation of intellectual property disclosures and patent applications.Leadership Responsibilities:

Take ownership of a large in-flight project, leading personnel from multiple departments to manage risks and ensure successful delivery.
Work with agility to support in-flight projects while creating new opportunities.
Lead and coordinate critical funding applications, driving the creation of compelling bids, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.Required Skills:

Project management, including budget analysis.
Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Working knowledge of the UK funding landscape.
Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organisational levels.
Highly effective stakeholder management.Preferred Skills:

Experience in coordinating and writing bids for funding (e.g., UKRI, Innovate UK, Horizon Europe).
Management of technical projects and work package delivery.
