About the Role

As the Lead Engineer, you will play a critical role in overseeing the engineering and maintenance operations within our heavy industrial facility. You will be responsible for ensuring that machinery and equipment run efficiently and reliably while driving continuous improvement initiatives. This is a day-shift position offering an attractive salary of £45,000 to £50,000, and the opportunity to work in a supportive and safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and motivate a team of engineers to deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
• Oversee reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault-finding activities for heavy industrial machinery.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, reliability, and safety across the facility.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure engineering solutions align with business needs.
• Manage budgets, spare parts inventory, and liaise with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, fostering a safety-first culture.
• Provide technical expertise and hands-on support when required.
