Rubicon’s client is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and installation of production line solutions and is trusted by household-name brands across the food and FMCG industries.  With innovation at its core, this business continues to push boundaries, and right now, they’re looking to appoint a Lead Engineer to drive product development from concept to completion.

As Lead Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Guiding, mentoring, and inspiring a team of engineers to deliver excellence in innovation
• Overseeing and managing development projects using robust project management tools
• Using your mechanical expertise and SolidWorks skills to design, prototype, and test advanced systems
• Working closely with marketing, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless project integration
• Applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Value Engineering (VE) principles to streamline and optimise solutions
• Engaging with external suppliers and industry experts to stay ahead of the curve

As Lead Engineer, your skills and experience will include:

• A HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5–7 years’ experience in development or bespoke machine design
• Strong leadership and project management skills
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and sound understanding of engineering calculations
• Proven track record of project delivery, with site and commissioning experience
• Ideally, exposure to electrical, pneumatic, or software systems (bonus points for food industry experience)
