The Recipe Join us and youll be responsible for ensuring the required standards of fleet compliance, budgetary control, supplier management and service to operational sites nationwide are maintained.
With a fleet consisting of over 1000 assets, Warburtons continues to invest heavily in our vehicle base with Zero Emission Vehicles already on the road and further investment agreed for the coming years. We're proud to announce that we've integrated Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) tractors into our Primary Fleet, with more arriving soon. This shift will reduce CO2 emissions by over 80% compared to diesel counterparts. In addition, we're excited to invest in more electric vehicles this year and more in the future.

Key Accountabilities and Measures Lead a team of Regional Fleet Engineers as well as supporting and influencing site distribution teams in 22 sites nationwide.
To support the continued development of the fleet by improving current standards in vehicle specification, maintenance and procurement. Managing the integration of new vehicles and the successful retirement of the outgoing fleet.
Manage and establish strong working relationships with our large base of national and regional external service providers, ensuring the required service levels are achieved and annual audits to review compliance with our standards are conducted.
Undertake investigations into vehicle failures or major incidents, identify root causes and put forward recommendations to prevent future occurrence.
Ensure realistic maintenance plans are set, and all aspects of fleet management are delivered nationally on time and within budget.
Monitor changes within legislation to ensure ongoing fleet and operational legal compliance.
Essential Ingredients Knowledge and experience of auditing operational compliance and vehicle service providers
Structured and practical vehicle engineering skills
Membership of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers MIRTE
(CPC) Certificate of Professional Competence of National Road Haulage Level 3 (essential)
Knowledge and experience of managing large fleet maintenance operations on a multi-site basis
Extensive knowledge of dealing with DVSA and operator licence legislation
Excellent communicating skills, articulate/develops effective, long-term relationships with all stakeholders
Negotiation skills ability to negotiate with suppliers to deliver a benefit to both parties both internally and externally
Able to support the management of major incidents involving DVSA / Emergency Services
