This exciting Lead Nurse opportunity will hold overall responsibility for the development and delivery of the nursing and Health Care Assistants workforce across various primary care sites and community services.



Community services include:




  • Out-of-hours primary care services

  • Gynaecology Collaborative across local areas

  • Ear, Nose, and Throat services

  • Severe Mental Illness service in partnership with local NHS Trusts

  • Outreach programs delivering primary care services for hostel residents



The post holder will lead innovative nursing projects and teams, with a key priority being the integration of a Nursing Hub. This hub provides training opportunities for nurses aspiring to develop within primary care, playing a crucial role in maintaining a pipeline of nurses for the practices and community services. Collaboration with external stakeholders, such as local higher education institutions and training providers, will support continuous nurse development.



The role will be based onsite at the head office and across multiple locations in the local area and North Central London.



The Role: The post holder will be responsible for:




  • Ensuring the delivery of safe and effective nursing care to the multi-practice population.

  • Supporting, developing, and managing nursing and health care support workers while working closely with operational management and clinicians to improve standards of care for patients.

  • Ensuring compliance with Infection Prevention and Control, providing advice, delivering training, and participating in audits and quality improvement activities.

  • Collaborating with the Medical Director to maintain strong clinical governance and adherence to protocols at all sites.

  • Representing the organization during Care Quality Commission (CQC) visits as Nursing Lead, ensuring compliance with all quality standards.

  • Contributing to the strategic development of the clinical workforce by working with stakeholders and key members of the Executive & Board team.



Clinically, the post holder will:




  • Deliver evidence-based care for patients with long-term conditions and manage preventative nursing interventions for all patients.

  • Act as an autonomous practitioner responsible for care delivery, demonstrating critical thinking and skills in clinical decision-making.

  • Collaborate with the general practice team to meet patient needs, supporting the delivery of policies and procedures while providing leadership and direction for the nursing team.
