Lead Software Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer to join a leading provider of sports broadcasting services on a permanent basis, based in either France or the UK.As Lead Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and enhance tools for the archiving, media management, and production of major sports events through the Cloud. The role encompasses taking responsibility for the system architecture, integrating various components including AWS services and back-end structures, and leading discussions on architectural evolution. You will establish coding standards, review code written by less experienced engineers to ensure it meets quality benchmarks, maintain systems according to test methodologies, correct code during system failures, and ensure overall system robustness.The technical environment features AWS (Lambda, Step-functions, MediaLive), with backend development in Node.js/TypeScript and frontend in React. Close collaboration with software engineers, third-party technology providers, product owners, project managers, and the operations team will be key for successful delivery.Candidates should have a degree in computer science (or a related subject) with proven experience in API-driven back-end environments. Exceptional JavaScript/TypeScript development skills are essential, as is knowledge of NoSQL databases (DynamoDB), and ideally familiarity with React.
