Lead Software Engineer

IntaPeople are supporting a late stage scale up based in central Cardiff who are on the lookout for an experienced tech agnostic Software Engineer to join their core technology team as a Lead Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity for Senior/Lead Software Engineers looking for the next step in their career – the company are ‘tech first’ and the engineering team believe in using the right tool for the right job.
We want to speak to engineers who can work with feature development through the full lifecycle: from requirements gathering, specification and prototyping through to deployment and ongoing iteration. Just as importantly we want to speak to people who are fast learners who will thrive in a rapidly evolving startup with continuous delivery and fortnightly product releases.
You shouldn’t be dependent on a single technology or language, and are comfortable using the best tool for the job. Ideally, it’s JavaScript and web technologies, with advanced knowledge of at least one server-side language like PHP or Nodejs. The engineering team are reliant on Amazon Web Service and are always taking advantage of it’s for ever growing features. Whilst you don’t need to be highly experienced on this cloud platform, a basic understanding will be required.
The company use agile delivery models with modern software development techniques including iterative development, test automation, continuous integration and automated infrastructure - There’s no trace of complicated, legacy infrastructure hold-backs here!
Knowledge of MongoDB, Elasticsearch, cross-platform Electron apps would be a plus but not essential. The teams use a few notable frameworks such as Backbone, AngularJS and ReactJS however have also started to incorporate Web Components to make code modular in a framework-agnostic manner.
