Lead Systems Test Engineer

Job Overview:The Lead Systems Test Engineer will lead the systems test team in characterising and optimising electronically steered antenna arrays for aero and land applications. They will lead the development of system measurement facilities and techniques to ensure compliance to system requirements. Technical Responsibilities: Lead the characterisation, performance verification and optimisation of phased array antenna systems. Lead the definition, development commissioning of system test facilities for efficient measurement of antenna arrays.Lead the systems test team in developing measurement techniques, automating measurement processes, system test results analysis.Lead the definition of system test procedures and presentation of results. Work with the System Integration Lead to optimise performance in particular developing array calibration and correction techniques.Lead the system and module level verification work ensuring compliance to the system and module requirements specifications as defined by the Systems Integration Lead. Support the wider technical deliverables required for product development, such as lifecycle management, methods development, peer reviews, procurement support and lab testing.Organisational Responsibilities:Leading the Systems Test team, providing technical leadership for the A7700, L3300 and future product development projects.Manage the Systems Test team, providing the team with mentoring and support and completing all admin tasks associated with people management.Work together with the Lead Systems Integration Engineer to organise the tasking of the systems integration and system test teams.Support customer engineering liaison, for example customer demonstrations; test result sharing.Ensure that documentation, specifications and reports are created to an excellent standard to support quality assurance.Ensure compliance with the company product development framework.Work with the Project Manager to define schedules and progress reports.Guide, support and mentor the members of the Systems Test team, developing their skills, experience, capabilities and understanding of company processes.Qualifications & Skills:Essential:Postgraduate engineering degree or undergraduate engineering Master’s 5+ years in systems, RF and antenna product test and developmentTest and measurement software development using MATLAB and/or PythonExperience in developing antenna array systemsDemonstrated leadership and technical mentoring skillsDesirable:Proven innovation in RF and/or antenna development.
