Our client is a leading food business who supply to a variety of the major retailers. As they continue to expand and grow their presence in the marketplace they are now seeking a driven and ambitious Lead Technologist / Assistant Technical Manager to join their business.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Lead and manage the Technical Assistance Team, overseeing attendance, workload, performance, appraisals, and development.
* Support the technical and production managers to ensure the safety, legality, and quality of the products.
* Evaluate any breaches or issues in standard processing or factory operations, proposing and implementing corrective action plans.
* Collaborate with the production manager on action plans, escalating issues to the technical manager when needed.
* Promote enhancements to the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with factory compliance.
* Work with colleagues to ensure departmental targets are met.
* Ensure finished products and factory standards comply with relevant legislation.
* Handle customer complaints and trace issues, keeping the technical manager updated.
* Assist with technical and process innovation initiatives.
* Ensure the effective operation of the corrective action system and HACCP, conducting regular reviews.
* Manage process changes and product launches to meet technical requirements and assist with internal audits.
About you:
* Experience in the food industry in a similar role is required
* experience in leading and managing is required
