Learning and Development Manager | £43,500 Plus Free Rail Travel | London | Hybrid
Due to internal promotion, an Award-Winning Train Operating Company require a permanent Learning and Development Manager.

Opportunity:

Opportunity for an ambitious L&D Manager to join a supportive employer within the £billion Rail sector; and gain managerial experience (with an L&D Assistant reporting to you). 
You will hit the ground running,  developing and facilitating new L&D Programmes including a company-wide rollout of a Skills Matrix (which will provide invaluable skillet overviews across 700 staff), and internally championing their new HR system across internal processes; and putting your own stamp on training by creating E-Learning.

The Candidate


  • Previous experience in an L&D Manager post (with the ability to hit the ground running and assimilate well across the team)
  • Understanding of competency frameworks and skills matrixes.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Commercial understanding with ability to report on budget.
  • Desirable - Experience of creating E-learning.
  • Desirable – Experience of writing business cases.

Key Responsibilities:


  • To lead in the training and professional development of employees, including the creation, delivery and additional provision of a variety of training programmes for the business as required.
  • Also design and deliver training interventions including but not limited to corporate Inductions and Management Development programmes, utilising a range of delivery methods.
  • Review and identify training needs across the organisation and develop suitable interventions in accordance with applicable company standards.
  • Support, develop and contribute to the training and retention of employees through performance review/appraisal processes and career development and coaching initiatives, including full management of the Apprenticeship Levy digital account.
  • Build review and help inform the training budgets across the organisation.
  • Work collaboratively with different training functions across the business to maintain and evolve the company training and competency matrix and address mandatory and desirable training needs with each department; in line with job role requirements, ensuring continuous development.
  • Support the Head of L&D as necessary to fulfil relevant obligations required by our franchise as well as supporting L&D processes.

Salary:

• Attractive salary up to £43,500
