If so, we are looking for a Learning Mentor to join a dynamic secondary school in Leeds. You'll play a vital role in providing academic, social, and emotional support to students, fostering their success in and beyond the classroom.

Requirements

Essential:


  • A Level 3 qualification (A Level or equivalent).
  • Grade 5 or above in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience working with students in class, one-to-one, or in small groups.
  • Strong knowledge of study support strategies.
  • High-level communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with young people and set high standards.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to working in a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

Desirable:


  • Experience supporting post-16 students across Level 2 and Level 3 curriculum's, including A Levels.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • A teaching qualification or HLTA experience/qualification.

Responsibilities

As a Learning Mentor, your role will include:


  • Delivering one-to-one and small group tuition to help students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.
  • Supporting students in developing effective study and time management strategies.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to identify and address individual learning needs.
  • Acting as a positive role model, promoting inclusion and a student-centred approach.
  • Assisting with the organisation and facilitation of enrichment activities to support holistic development.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and interventions.
