If so, we are looking for a Learning Mentor to join a dynamic secondary school in Leeds. You'll play a vital role in providing academic, social, and emotional support to students, fostering their success in and beyond the classroom.
Requirements
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification (A Level or equivalent).
- Grade 5 or above in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Proven experience working with students in class, one-to-one, or in small groups.
- Strong knowledge of study support strategies.
- High-level communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with young people and set high standards.
- A proactive and flexible approach to working in a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
Desirable:
- Experience supporting post-16 students across Level 2 and Level 3 curriculum's, including A Levels.
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- A teaching qualification or HLTA experience/qualification.
Responsibilities
As a Learning Mentor, your role will include:
- Delivering one-to-one and small group tuition to help students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.
- Supporting students in developing effective study and time management strategies.
- Collaborating with teaching staff to identify and address individual learning needs.
- Acting as a positive role model, promoting inclusion and a student-centred approach.
- Assisting with the organisation and facilitation of enrichment activities to support holistic development.
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and interventions.
