We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team and work closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Support for Pupils:
- Implement planned learning activities and teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher.
- Adjust learning activities based on pupils' responses to achieve effective learning outcomes.
- Provide information to the teacher for monitoring, assessing, and recording pupil progress and activities.
- Provide feedback to pupils regarding their attainment and progress under the guidance of the teacher.
- Arrange and provide resources for lessons and activities as directed by the teacher.
- Understand and support pupils with special needs, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities.
Support for Teachers:
- Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities with the teacher.
- Provide detailed feedback to the teacher on pupil progress and behaviour.
- Liaise with other staff members and provide relevant information about pupils as needed.
- Support the work of volunteers and other Learning Support staff in the classroom.
General Duties:
- Work in accordance with relevant occupational standards and the agreed local competency framework.
- Complete a common core programme of induction for working with children.
Additional Information:
This role involves both basic support tasks and more specific practitioner support activities, with less supervision than a Level 1 Teaching Assistant.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of a common core programme of induction for working with children.
- Working knowledge of relevant occupational standards and local competency frameworks.
- Ability to adjust learning activities and provide feedback based on pupils' responses.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff and provide relevant information.

- Demonstrates high expectations for all pupils.
- Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with pupils, treating them with respect and consideration.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support the role of other team members.
