Learning Support Assistant required for Immediate start


Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: Competitive, aligned with the main pay scale for Hertfordshire, based on experience (approximately �95 - �115 per day)
Contract Type: Long-term, Full time with potential for a permanent role.
Start Date: 6th January 2025

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with up to 8 primary aged children with behavioural issues
  • Working one to one and in small groups fully in class
  • Full training including STEPS training

About the School - Alternative Provision - Learning Support Assistant, St Albans, Hertfordshire:

This academy school provides education for pupils who are permanently or temporarily excluded from schools.

They respond to the educational needs of pupils who would otherwise be attending mainstream schools.

Support is determined by each pupil's particular needs and circumstances and are taught in a small group or given individual tuition.

The staff works closely with parents and carers who together with the pupil are encouraged to be fully involved in any decision-making and provide a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Requirements - Learning Support Assistant, St Albans, Hertfordshire:

  • Experience in UK primary/secondary/SEN/AP schools
  • SEN experience is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for supporting students with diverse educational needs.
  • An LSA who can commit to a long-term role across 5 days a week between 8.30am and 4pm
  • Someone who is keen to learn and develop
