Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Supporting Children with SEMH

Location: Camden
Salary: daily rate �90-�110
Contract Type: Full time, 5 days - Term time only
Start Date: Immediately

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a mainstream primary school which is inclusive and nurturing educational environment.

About the Role:
As an LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional well-being and academic progress of children with SEMH needs. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families, you will help create a safe and engaging learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of tailored learning plans and behavioural strategies.
  • Foster positive relationships to encourage confidence and self-esteem.
  • Monitor and track progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and parents.
  • Promote inclusivity and manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding.
  • Support children in developing social skills and coping strategies.

About You:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH or similar needs (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, compassionate, and resilient nature.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the holistic development of children.
