Learning Support Assistant (Secondary School) – Portsmouth
Position: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £23,114 – £23,500 (FTE), actual salary dependent on hours worked and experience

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teaching staff and the SEND department to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensuring all pupils, including those with additional needs, have access to a full and enriching educational experience.

The Role:

• Provide tailored support to students in and out of the classroom
• Work with individuals or small groups under the direction of the class teacher or SENCO
• Foster positive relationships to help build students’ confidence and engagement
• Contribute to the development and delivery of personalised learning plans
• Promote inclusion and equal opportunities for all students

Ideal Candidate:

• Has experience working with secondary-aged students or within an educational setting (desirable but not essential)
• Is calm, patient, and committed to supporting student progress
• Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Is flexible, resilient, and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Holds a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or is willing to work towards one)
