Position: Adult Support Worker
Location: Adult Day Centre
Salary: £25,000 per annum FTE, with a £500 joining bonus
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Part-time options: 3 or 4 full days per week)
Annual Leave: 25 days paid holiday plus bank holidays
Role Overview:
Become a part of a dedicated team of compassionate professionals at this adult day centre, assisting autistic learners aged 18 and above. As an Adult Support Worker, your role will be to:
- Collaborate with individuals and small groups to cultivate knowledge and skills that enhance learners' well-being, autonomy, and social integration.
- Implement behaviour-driven teaching methodologies and interventions that foster positive outcomes and growth.
- Facilitate the application of learned skills in real-world contexts, both within our Centre for Lifelong Learning and out in the community.
Key Duties:
- Deliver comprehensive support, care, and instruction to autistic adult learners.
- Design, prepare, and conduct lessons and activities that facilitate skill and knowledge acquisition.
- Provide behavioural support to mitigate behaviours that adversely affect quality of life.
- Assist with personal care, empowering adult learners to maintain hygiene standards, including toileting, dressing, and washing.
- Encourage participation in social, recreational, and educational activities in the local community.
- Support learners in securing work experience and employment opportunities.
- Track and monitor learners' progress to provide effective, customised support.

What We're Looking For:
- A valid driving license or access to transportation (due to the remote location).
- Professional, personal, or voluntary experience working with adults or young people with disabilities.
- Comfort in working with adults exhibiting challenging behaviours.
- Capability to assist with personal/intimate care when needed.
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
