The Role:

The Learning and Development and Talent teams are responsible for ensuring that learning and talent initiatives contribute to and enhance performance at individual, team, and organisational levels. They align learning and development needs with the strategic goals and objectives of ECC, acting as agents of change. This involves influencing key stakeholders and making informed decisions and recommendations on the organisation's learning and development strategies.
As a Learning and Talent Development Apprentice, you will have responsibility for the administration, sourcing, co-ordination and delivery of learning and development modules and will assist the team in building the skills and knowledge of the ECC workforce. Additionally, you will support in the delivery of strategic talent management and development programmes. This role provides a comprehensive learning experience, combining practical training with theoretical knowledge.
The Level 5 apprenticeship is an advanced course and is the equivalent to a foundation degree, or a Higher National Diploma (HND). As an Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to develop a solid foundation in Human Resources, while also contributing to the overall goals and objectives of the Essex County Council.
Working collaboratively, flexibly and effectively communicating with people across the wider council, this role presents an opportunity to learn, whilst working towards a professional qualification. As part of the apprenticeship, you will work towards the CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management Level 5 qualification which leads to Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
In-person interviews for this role will be held in January 2025 at County Hall, Chelmsford.
