About the role: Working within the Service Charge team (currently 7 people) which is part of the wider Finance directorate of circa 60 people, this role is part of a larger project to review Paradigm's leases to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the leases and that all appropriate information is recorded correctly on our systems.
Your remit will include:
examining lease documents and agreements and summarising terms in an easy-to-understand format for various stakeholders
reviewing and updating service charge apportionment and allocations on the housing management system
ensuring lease terms comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice and accurately applied on the system
identifying potential discrepancies or issues and prepare detailed reports on findings for presentation to senior management
data entry into the housing management system as required
You will be working with the service charge team and with other departments across the business to review and document approximately 3,000 leases. You will also get the opportunity to work within a large business transformation project.
Our ideal candidate will have /be:
Proven experience in leasehold management, property management, or a similar role within a housing association or real estate environment
Strong understanding of lease agreements, service charges, and relevant legislation and best practice
Strong analytical mind with the ability to interpret complex documents and data
Focused and able to decipher and extract pertinent points from written and verbal communications
Competent in the use of IT including Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to adapt style and explain complex information to different audiences
Well organised, diligent, accurate with a strong attention to detail
Where could this role take you? Whilst this is not currently a permanent role, in a business our size and with the transformation we are going through, there is a possibility that this could either be extended, or other opportunities may arise; many of our talented colleagues started at Paradigm as temporary/interim and have gone on to forge successful careers with us. However, if something longer term doesn't materialise, you will still gain valuable experience which will add to your employability in this and similar fields.
