Our client are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Legal Assistant to join their Residential Conveyancing Department. This permanent position.
Responsibilities:
- Opening and closing files in the firm's case management system
- Updating clients, solicitors, and estate agents via telephone and email daily
- Taking client instructions, verifying sources of funds, and checking IDs
- Preparing draft documents and issuing sales contracts
- Requesting mortgage redemption figures
- Drafting transfer deeds
- Replying to sales enquiries
- Ordering property searches
- Managing the exchange of contracts for sales and purchases
- Conducting pre-completion searches
- Submitting LTT/SDLT tax returns
- Handling post-completion processes
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a conveyancing assistant is essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good typing skills
- Organised, efficient, and adaptable
