Legal Assistant – Commercial Property
Location: Whitefield
Hours: Full time Monday-Friday and office based
Salary: £23k - £25k DOE
Main Duties and Responsibilities
\n- Maintain Fee Earner’s diaries arranging meetings and appointments
\n- Deal with routine client correspondence and queries
\n- Opening and closing files
\n- Attend to clients both in person and on the telephone in a manner in keeping with the firm’s standard of client care
\n- Create and maintain client records on the firm’s database ensuring that all correspondence and file notes are recorded on the system, in accordance with Lexcel’s requirements
\n- Produce client correspondence and enclosures for mailing including client bills
\n- Ensure the confidentiality of the client and firm’s information and documentation at all times
\n- Maintain client hard copy files including copying, storage and retrieval of information
\n- Request payments and record receipts of client monies
\n- Produce client correspondence via dictated notes
\n- Submitting SDLT forms to HMRC
\n- Submitting applications to register properties with Land Registry
\n- Assisting with drafting Contract Packs, Transfer Forms and other legal documents
\n- Reception Cover as and when needed / advised

Person Specification
- The ideal candidate should have:
\n- Previous experience working as a Legal Assistant/Secretary
\n- Great communication skills and an ability to work well with others
\n- Ability to work under time constraints and prioritise work load
\n- Able to handle sensitive matters discreetly
\n- Good organisation skills with a methodical approach
\n- Self-motivated and proactive
\n- Deliver excellent service to clients and colleagues
