THE ROLE: LEGAL CASHIER

THE LOCATION: HARPENDEN

Our well-established, forward thinking, friendly client law firm based in Harpenden is now seeking a Legal Cashier for their structured Finance Dept.

Main responsibilities (to be revised from time to time) are:-

To supervise banking functions including bank reconciliations;

Dealing with petty cash including monthly reconciliation;

To supervise and process client and office accounting transactions including postings;

To supervise and assist in the sending of monies by electronic transfer using Internet Banking.

To assist with the control of designated client deposit accounts including monthly reconciliation.

To supervise and train the trainee Legal Cashier in all aspects of legal cashiering;

Manage the input of all Land Registry and Companies House fees;

Checking bills before engrossment and sending to the client;

Dealing with any accounts queries as may arise from time to time;

Assisting the credit controller on her days off to maintain momentum in cash collection;

Advising the Finance Director on the application of SAR in respect of transactions being carried out;

To ensure the filing and administration of the accounts department including filing of

Money Laundering identification sheets is kept up to date;

Preparation of monthly summary of bank SAR reconciliation;

To supervise the printing of ledgers and photocopying in preparation for the annual SAR audit.

Assisting with the annual professional indemnity insurance renewal process;

To assist generally the Finance Director with any matter that may arise to ensure the smooth running of the department.

Required qualifications, skills and expertise.

Trained in the principles of book-keeping and preferably with sound experience in legal cashiering. Computer literacy is a requirement. Preferably 10 years plus legal accounts experience for their structured dept., however will consider those with less who have the pre-requisite experience.

Hours: 9-5.30pm

Holidays: Standard plus extra bank holidays

Salary upto �34,000pa dep on exp

Start Date: ASAP

Parking: Close by offices.
