Legal Cashier - Bournemouth

A well-regarded law firm, based in Bournemouth are searching for an experienced Legal Cashier to join their finance department. A Legal Cashier is essential for the smooth financial operation of a Solicitors firm, ensuring compliance, accuracy and financial integrity in all transactions. Ensuring financial practices comply with legal regulatory requirements and Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Responsibilities include:
Client Management: To maintain and manage client accounts, ensuring funds are correctly allocated and tracked.
Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile Client and Office accounts. To investigate and resolve discrepancies in bank accounts.
Processing Transactions: Taking Credit card payments, banking receipts, making bank transfers, journals, cheque writing and posting the same. Managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment of invoices and Clients payments.
Compliance and Regulating Reporting: Ensuring the firm complies with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and SRA relevant financial regulations. Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
Client Money Handling: Handling Client monies in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and ensuring it is segregated from the firms funds. Monitor and control movement of Client funds and they are only used for the correct purposes.
Payroll Management: Collating payroll information to be outsourced. Checking and making necessary HMRC and Pension payments.
Financial Preparation and Reporting: Collating financial information to be sent to accountants for the appropriate reports to be produced. Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts with the accountants.
Record Keeping: Maintaining and updating personnel records.

?Competitive salary at £28,000 - £30,000 will be provided, dependant on relevant Legal Cashier experience. It is essential for you to have previous experience, in order to be considered.
