Legal Counsel, Commercial - TMT

Heriot Brown is partnered with a large media & telecommunications business looking for a Legal Counsel to join their team on a permanent basis.
In this role, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal expertise and guidance across various commercial and technology-driven initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, with a focus on technology, telecommunications, and procurement agreements, including SaaS and PaaS.
Advising on intellectual property matters, ensuring the protection of rights related to new technologies and innovations.
Offering solution-oriented legal advice that aligns with the commercial objectives and business needs of the company.
Staying informed about developments in data protection laws and ensuring compliance within the company’s operations.
Collaborating with stakeholders across different jurisdictions, managing cross-border legal issues, and applying relevant legal frameworks.
Supporting the company’s mission to innovate by exploring and advising on new technologies and connectivity solutions.
Requirements:
2+ PQE
Strong background drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, either in-house or private practice
Happy with occasional travel in the South East.
