We are looking for a driven, hardworking and commercially minded individual to lead on the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts for our EV charging and solar hybrid projects across the UK. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors, you will be responsible for ensuring the legal aspects of our construction projects are managed with precision and efficiency. Whilst the primary focus of the role will be construction contracts, there will also be many opportunities to get involved with the wider work of our collaborative legal team, including regulatory, commercial and corporate matters. Lead on drafting and negotiating construction contracts (currently NEC4) with supply partners and subcontractors for solar hybrid projects, Electric Forecourts and other EV charging projects. Providing expert legal advice on construction and related supply chain contracts. Develop relationships with supply and installation partners, as well as internal stakeholders to gather information and progress projects in a professional and efficient manner while effectively managing risk. Assist on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts to facilitate GRIDSERVE’s growth and development. Assist reviewing and negotiating documentation for a variety of corporate and finance transactions, including, asset/share sales, M&A transactions and project financings. Understand and advise the Group on energy and EV related regulatory frameworks and the commercial impact of legislative changes. Ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the business. Promoting legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the company. Support wider legal team members with other projects and energy related matters. Assist in other related duties as and when requested by GRIDSERVE Senior Management. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System, compliant with ISO standards.
Required Experience Proven experience in drafting and negotiating a range of construction supply chain contracts (NEC4 experience is desirable). Excellent academic background and commercial experience gained in leading mid to top tier law firm or in house – projects/construction departments
