Legal Counsel (Contracts) - 12 month FTC Chadwick Nott are working with a global financial services consultancy organisation who are looking to hire a Legal Counsel - Contracts on a 12 month FTC basis for their London legal team. This role will assist the Legal Department with directing, implementing, managing, coordinating, overseeing, and supervising corporate legal matters relating to the Firm. This will include: Contract and document review, supplier contracts, compliance, corporate governance, and data protection. Responsibilities in this role include assistance with transacting business with clients, in the European Operations, Asia/Pacific, and India, wherever company operations expand. Duties and responsibilities: Maintains collaborative rapport with local leadership on behalf of the global Legal Department. Reviews client engagement agreements and related documents (e.g., confidentiality agreements and nondisclosure agreements), and vendor agreements. Supports requests for due diligence on prospects, or other contract screening for corporate changes, as needed. Supports integration of acquisitions, as needed. Meets response-time metrics established for the Legal Department. Supports GDPR and data protection regulation compliance needs. Prepares template business contracts and forms. Identifies issues in need of legal or compliance support. Supports the drafting and review of select Firm policies and procedures, or compliance areas. Supports corporate governance and legal entity recordkeeping needs. Support legal recordkeeping obligations for records to be maintained at the local offices for compliance. Reviews international outside legal counsel engagement letters and invoices. Processes international invoices for payment. Tracks and monitors outside legal expenses, and maintains budget accountability. Assists with other projects as needed, and performs other duties as assigned. Role Requirements: Fully qualified lawyer with more than 3 years PQE in a similar in-house Legal Department environment is preferred. Proven experience in contract negotiation, preferably within a corporate or commercial environment. Strong knowledge of contract law and commercial law principles. Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This will be a hybrid opportunity requiring 2-3 days based from the central London office.
