Who we're looking for A keen and organised lawyer with experience of retail investment management/private banking who will be part of the London Wealth Management legal team but with global coverage. The team This role is in the legal team in London which supports the Schroders' global Wealth Management business. The team advises on a wide variety of general corporate, commercial and regulatory matters relating to the Wealth Management business as well as supporting on specific Wealth products and investment services. What you'll do You will be a legal counsel in the London office, supporting the global Head of Legal, Wealth Management on providing legal support to the Schroders' Wealth Management businesses and will work in close collaboration with the wider Schroders' legal teams. The role is based in London, but with limited travel as appropriate to other WM locations. You will be expected to be able to: draft, review, advise, negotiate and conclude third party contracts relevant to the Wealth Management business, including terms of business, client-related agreements (for example, investment management agreements, platform agreements and third party custodian agreements) other market infrastructure agreements (for example, market data agreements or software licences) and other relevant supplier agreements; become familiar with and be able to draft and advise on the terms and conditions that govern Wealth Management products and services; support the technology focused aspects of the Wealth Management division (e.g. with software development and related agreements, cloud provider and Software-as-Service ('SaaS') T&Cs, end user licence agreements and intellectual property and commercial aspects of running a technology and investment platform); advise on financial services' regulatory matters including cross-border investment activities and interaction with regulators; support on wider Group matters including Group M&A/corporate transactions which require subject matter expertise and any integration activities post completion of any corporate transactions; support on corporate compliance, data protection and privacy matters, in close collaboration with the wider Schroders' legal team; and provide ad-hoc support on other corporate and commercial matters/projects including intra-group re-organisations and restructures. The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need: Strong private practice or in-house experience (or both). Indicative experience level might be 3 - 5 years PQE, but we would consider applicants with other experience. Knowledge of the legal and regulatory risks associated with retail investment management. Knowledge and experience of retail investment management. Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong critical thinking skills. Excellent attention to detail and procedure.
