The firm is now looking for an individual with 2 – 4 years’ relevant post qualification experience to join.The group focusses on high value complex litigation cases, international arbitration and competition litigation. Associates are encouraged to undertake their own advocacy where possible and to take responsibility for their cases, even at a junior level.The group is headquartered in London, but has argued cases in all of the world’s major arbitration centres and courts. The team is composed of English solicitors, solicitor-advocates and lawyers from several European jurisdictions. The international litigation and arbitration departments are not separate, which enables lawyers to provide clients with a singular team and strategy throughout the dispute, whilst also broadening the experience which associates can obtain. Advocacy is often performed in arbitrations without external counsel.In the commercial field, the team routinely represents major global corporations in cases relating to shareholders’ agreements, joint ventures, supply and distribution contracts, taxation, competition, director and manager liability, EU state aid law and licensing contracts, amongst others. The group is also known for its track record in handling high-profile Investor-State arbitrations, representing both investor and sovereigns in landmark proceedings.In litigation, lawyers advise on some of the largest cases in the English Courts, as well as in jurisdictions which follow English law and are subject to appeals to the Privy Council. The firm has one of the best global dispute resolution practices in the world and unrivalled capabilities managing disputes which require a coordinated strategy across multiple jurisdictions, often including the courts of USA, Germany, Hong Kong, Russia, CEE and other international forums.The successful candidate will have good generalist experience handling litigation and arbitration disputes, as well as experience of EU law and/or public international law.
